The 18th Annual Cherrywood Art Fair, to be held on December 7 & 8, 2018 from 10 am to 5 pm, is looking for an experienced event assistant to work weekend shifts at Maplewood Elementary.
We need an outstanding, hardworking, and extremely organized self-starter to assist the Artist Coordinator with artist load in and out process.
Responsibilities include:
- LOAD IN
- Ensure load in locations are identified.
- Be familiar with booth layout and direct artists to the correct load in location & booth.
- Communicate parking/load in policy to artists and encourage artists to load in/move their cars prior to set up & check-in.
- Ensure dollys/carts/tools are available and manage their use (no bogarting of carts).
- If artists request assistance – help them transport wares to their booth.
- Communicate all issues to Artist Coordinator.
- At end of shift, gather any signage/equipment and trash left by artists. Store in proper locations.
- LOAD OUT
- Ensure load out locations are identified.
- Communicate parking/load in policy to artists and encourage artists to load out/move their cars in timely and orderly fashion.
- Ensure dollys/carts/tools are available to artists and manage their use (no bogarting of carts).
- If artists request assistance – help them transport wares to their cars.
- At end of shift, gather any signage/equipment and trash left by artists.
- Assist with general breakdown of outdoor fair area.
- Communicate all issues to Artist Coordinator.
Position Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and customer service skills
- Interest in and knowledge of Cherrywood Art Fair
- Team-player with a good sense of humor and positive attitude are major assets
