East Austin nonprofit Chula League is fueling and sustaining the arts in Austin, and we are looking for an experienced Social Media Manager to join our mission.

We need a driven, creative social media-savvy individual who enjoys writing, posting and is passionate about the arts. The candidate must have a can-do attitude and willingness to bring fresh ideas to the Chula League team.

The Social Media Manager is responsible for creating our social media strategy, implementing a successful campaign to help increase Chula League programming (e.g. Cherrywood Art Fair, Little Artist BIG ARTIST mentorship program, and Professional Development workshops) awareness, and writing posts based on knowledge of current marketing trends that integrate with the overall Chula League PR strategy. You will be responsible for developing content and acting as the community manager of the Chula League and Cherrywood Art Fair Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat accounts and other social media channels you see fit.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop, document and execute a marketing and social media strategy including best practices to be discussed and approved by Chula League Brand Marketing Chair with input from Programming leadership.
  • Develop/document social media content schedule/calendar with posts from July 2017 to December 2017 to be reviewed and approved by Chula League Brand Marketing Chair with input from Programming leadership.
  • Schedule posts according to page statistics on highest traffic periods.
  • Develop content suited to each channel’s environment in style of overall brand using multiple hashtags, when content is appropriate.
  • Post photos with captions across channels.
  • Monitor social media channels and respond to community, in a timely manner.
  • Post/Tweet live during 2-day Cherrywood Art Fair event weekend December 9–10, 2017 from 10am–5pm.
  • Conduct free Google AdWords search campaign using Chula League’s nonprofit account.
  • Proof copy on all creative deliverables and review monthly (July through December) e-newsletter copy drafted by Chula League Brand Marketing Chair.
  • Upload Facebook ad graphics supplied by Graphics Coordinator and regularly monitor analytics and track performance with ultimate goal of growing Chula League’s programming audiences.
  • Provide input on printed event promotional materials distribution plans.
  • Prepare written, monthly social media reports (1-2 paragraphs) that outline successes, issues, and metrics or present in person at assigned staff meetings.
  • Participate in post-Cherrywood Art Fair team survey and debrief meeting.
  • Prepare written post-Cherrywood Art Fair report to Board of Directors within 2 weeks of debrief meeting. Report should include:
    • Assessment of whether stated goals and execution were aligned.
    • Document # of social channel followers from July to end of December and total audience reach metrics on paid FB ad campaign for Chula League programming. Must include detailed data points, such as, location and demographics.
    • Assessment of which paid FB Ads/boosted posts were most effective.
    • Recommendations on how Chula League can maintain and engage audience throughout year.
    • Recommendations on future social media and strategy changes.


  • 2 years of Social Media Management

  • Deadline-driven and detail-oriented attitude
  • Excel, Word, Google Drive, and Social Media management platforms skills a must
  • Mailchimp and Asana familiarity a plus
  • Team-player with a good sense of humor and positive attitude are major assets
