Who We Are
Chula League is a nonprofit formed in 2005 to support the arts, and art education in East Austin managed by a small, grassroots board of directors.
We work to ensure that the arts play a valued role in the educational, economic, and cultural well being of East Austin neighborhoods. Chula produces a variety of projects to achieve its mission and purpose, including its flagship event the Cherrywood Art Fair and the arts-mentoring program Little Artist BIG ARTIST.
Who You Are
The Program Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and managing Chula League’s Little Artist BIG ARTIST mentorship program, ensuring seamless team management and development, quality control and evaluation. In this role, the Program Coordinator will manage Chula League’s Little Artist BIG ARTIST mentorship 50 staff & volunteers. Chula League’s Program Coordinator will be the key external face of Chula League in the East Austin community in which we serve.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate Chula League’s free, after-school mentorship program from Professional Artist recruitment to Parent Orientations for our 40 Little Artists at 6 East Austin elementary schools.
- Assesses needs and ensures that program objectives are met.
- Manage and implement new strategies for Chula League’s programming.
- Run day to day operations for Chula League LIttle Artist BIG ARTIST 10 week program.
- Provide support to mentorship staff of 50.
- Perform various administrative duties (e.g., email/call teachers, principals and pertinent stakeholders; attend staff meetings, order equipment and supplies; copy materials, document program progress).
- Maintain records and document for entire program
Education & Experience
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education / Social Work
- At least 2 years of experience with nonprofit programming work.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Coordinating multiple programs
- Supervising and managing over 50 Staff Members
- Fluent in Spanish
- Proficient in using Google drive, and Program management tools.
- Project management skills managing complex, multifaceted projects resulting in measurable successes and program growth.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to Chula League’s mission of fueling and sustaining the arts in Austin.

- Communicate and exchange accurate information with staff, volunteers, and community partners in a variety of formats including in-person, electronically, and over the phone.
- Observe and react to the needs of staff, volunteers, and community partners.
- Utilize a computer efficiently and accurately
- This position requires sitting, standing, lifting, and traveling to campuses.

Compensation
